The Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District has issued an Order reverting back the seating capacity of all buses, sumos and maxi cabs, local taxis, auto-rickshaws and two-wheelers as per the original seating capacity as per Motor Vehicle Act.

In addition, for public buses including SPTS buses, full seating capacity is allowed.

However, number of standing passengers should not exceed five persons per bus. Sanitizers should be provided to the passengers and no passengers should be permitted to board the buses without wearing mask.
