In a proactive operation, alert troops of the Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya successfully intercepted a vehicle loaded with a significant quantity of sugar and apprehended an Indian national near the international border in the South Garo Hills district.

Acting on specific intelligence inputs, vigilant troops of the 144th Battalion foiled a smuggling attempt and seized a sugar-laden vehicle (a white Eco Van). The sugar was intended for smuggling across the border. During questioning, the driver failed to produce any valid documents for the sugar consignment.

The seized goods, along with the apprehended individual, have been handed over to PS Baghmara for further investigation and necessary legal action.

BSF Meghalaya remains committed to curbing trans-border crimes and ensuring the security of the international boundary. The force continues to maintain strict vigilance to prevent any unlawful activities along the border.
