BSF seized 16 oxen

16 oxen worth Rs 2,56,000 were seized by the Border Security Force (BSF) while they were being smuggled to Bangladesh through the unfenced border in East Khasi Hills district. 

In another incident, 2 oxen loaded in a Maruti Car worth Rs 1.52 lakh were also seized.  

­­­U K Nayal, DIG/PRO said, “In view of increasing smuggling attempts BSF has intensified its vigil and operations on the Indo-Bangladesh Border despite the harsh weather conditions.
