BSF Meghalaya nabs Indian national with illegal liquor shipment near border

In its ongoing efforts to curb smuggling along the Indo-Bangladesh border, the BSF Meghalaya, in collaboration with local police, apprehended an Indian national on August 23.

The person was caught with a consignment of liquor intended for illegal transport into Bangladesh from the East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya

During the operation, BSF troops intercepted an Alto car near the Pynursla Tri-Junction, which was loaded with various brands of liquor. The driver was apprehended after failing to produce valid documents for the liquor consignment.

The apprehended individual, along with the vehicle and seized items, has been handed over to Pynursla Police Station for further investigation and legal action.
