Brother-in-law of hotel owner arrested over 10,000 Yaba tablets seizure

A brother-in-law of a hotel owner was arrested on Thursday by the Anti-Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) in connection with the seizure of over 10,000 Yaba tablets in Shillong.

Labius Aregh, the brother-in-law of the hotel owner of City Palace at Lapalang was arrested following lead given by one Salnang M Sangma, who was arrested along with 6,000 Yaba tablets from a Renault Duster (ML05 R 6828) at Sawlad Madanrting on Wednesday night, police said.

Further investigation has led to the seizure of 4000 more Yaba tablets from the hotel, they said.

Aregh is currently in police custody.

A case has been registered and investigation is underway to uncover more details about the case.
