Block 4 of Qualapatty made containment zone

The District Magistrate has declared the entire Block-4 of Qualapatty, Shillong as a containment area on Tuesday.

The order was issued by District Magistrate based on the report received from the Incident Commander Zone-IV and the Medical Officer in-charge of Zone-IV that there has been a surge of COVID-19 positive case in Qualapatty Block 4. In order to prevent further transmission among the susceptible population, early detection through active house to house (H-T-H) search for persons with symptoms and contact tracing of the high-risk and low-risk contacts is required.

“For effective house to house (H-T-H) surveillance, complete containment of the area is required to ensure people stay indoor during the active search of cases,” the order said.

In another order, the District Magistrate has declared more houses as micro containment area.

The new micro containment are namely:
House of Ranjan Nath near Puja Mandap, Upper Jail Road,
House of   Bharat Nath Singh at Khliehshnong, Golflink, Pynthorumkhrah
House of Ranjit Kr Dey at Pdengshnong Golflink, Pynthorumkhrah,
Flat No 2, Greenview Apartments, Harisabha Laban
House of Nijabul Hussein, Qutub Manzil, Keating Road
House of Neelam Gaur, Mawlonghat is still retained as a micro-containment.

The order also restrict unregulated entry and exit in the affected areas to prevent against any possible spread of COVID-19. No persons are allowed to move into the containment area and inhabitants within the area shall not move out, besides all inhabitants within the containment area shall strictly remain inside their homes.

The areas that have been unsealed are:
R. Kurbah Compound, Mawlonghat (adjacent to Punjabi Lane)
House of Renuka Rai, C/o Ganesh Store Opposite Income Tax Quarter, Keating Road
Gold’s Gym Shillong,  Lower Lachaumiere
South Side Servants Quarters at Ferndale Apartments, IGP
W-304, Ferndale Apartment, IGP
Goenka Compound, Mawlonghat
Building of Mr. H. S. Sohliya near Laban Sports Club, Shillong
Birma Jalan Compound, c/o Ganesh Store, opposite Income Tax Quarters.
