BJP Meghalaya slams TMC antics against VP

The BJP state unit on Thursday came down heavily on TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee for insulting the Vice-President Shri Jagdeep Dhankar within the Parliament Complex. While Kalyan Banerjee mimicked the Vice President in a show of contempt, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi filmed the entire episode.
The BJP Meghalaya state karyakartas gathered to register their protest against this act and burnt effigies of the two offending MPs while raising slogans against them.
Chief spokesperson of BJP Meghalaya, Mariahom Kharkrang stated, “We have gathered to not only show our utter disgust for what happened but also to tell Shri Dhankar that the entire nation stands by him. An insult to the Vice-President is an insult to the constitution, by extension an insult to the nation itself. While everyone has the freedom to express themselves, it must be remembered that such freedom comes with its responsibilities and demands dignified behavior at all times. Then again, courteous behavior has seldom been associated with the current opposition benches.”
“In an effort to oppose the nation’s beloved Prime Minister they have crossed all limits by attacking everything and everyone they associate with the Govt. at the center. Their frustration has reached a paradigm where they can no longer differentiate between opposing an individual and humiliating symbols of our very nationhood, resulting in such cheap theatrics,” Kharkrang concluded.
