The Scheduled Tribe Morcha of BJP, Meghalaya Pradesh was formed on 31st January 2024 at the state party office in Bivar Road. The ST Morcha President Thomas Marak launched the ‘vocal for local’ programme as a part of the  gaon chalo abhiyan, which translates into reaching out across all the villages in Meghalaya.

The ST Morcha has been formed by the party to ensure the welfare of the local tribals by the state BJP.

During the programme the state president, Rikman G Momin, felicitated the ST Morcha office bearers, district president and district committee and welcomed them into the BJP organisational structure.

To enhance the wellbeing of local tribals, the ST Morcha, as a part of its state wide programme, will be reaching out to local villagers and raise awareness about the welfare schemes of the central government and will enable every local tribal  to avail the various benefits.

During the programme the State BJP President pledged complete party support for the  ST Morcha.
