The state BJP filed a zero FIR against Member of Parliament from Krisnanagar Mahua Moitra for allegedly making derogatory remarks against the union home minister Amit Shah.

The complaint was filed by the BJP state mahila president Arena Hynniewta before the Superintendent of Police, East Khasi Hills Vivek Syiem on Monday

The FIR alleged that Moitra during a media interaction on August 28 had made the objectionable remarks “Amit Shah’s head should be cut off”.

It said that the MP has also insulted the Schedule Caste Matua Community and hurting the religious sentiments of Sanatanis.

“These remarks are highly offensive, abusive and have caused severe mental agony, insult and public humiliation,” Hynniewta said while requesting the SP to register the FIR against Moitra and take strict legal actions and book her under the appropriate sections/provisions of law.
