    The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Meghalaya on Thursday organized several activities as part of celebrating the 70th birthday of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. 

    Health Minister AL Hek, state president Ernest Mawrie and other party functionaries were seen taking part in cleaning drive and tree plantation at Golflink, Shillong and Nongkrem.

    Cleaning drives were also organized in all the districts of Garo Hills and Ri Bhoi besides seeding of fish at Umsohlang river.

    Later, the celebration culminated with the cutting of cake at the Party Office by the minister and the state president.

    In West Jaintia Hills District, BJP leaders include State General Secretary who is also incharge of West Jaintia Hills Singh Mulieh, District President Shaphrang Lyngdoh, District General Secretary Moonlight Daw and other Karyakartas distributed hand sanitizers to the office of DMHO, West Jaintia Hills, SP office and Jowai Police Station.
