A delegation of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led by its state president Rikman G Momin, state Cabinet Minister ALHek, and Chief Spokesperson Mariahom Kharkrang, met with officials from the North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda & Homoeopathy (NEIAH) to discuss the grievances of students.

The primary concern raised was the shortage of teaching staff, particularly permanent faculty members.

The BJP delegation highlighted the urgent need to fill permanent vacancies in the institute, which has been a major concern for students.

The Director of NEIAH informed the delegation that interviews for contractual teaching staff have been conducted, and candidates have been shortlisted. The Director assured that permanent positions will be filled up soon, with approval expected within a month.

The BJP delegation, including Minister A.L. Hek, promised to follow up with the ministry to ensure that student grievances are addressed promptly.

The BJP Meghalaya delegation assured the NEIAH officials of their support while emphasizing the party’s commitment to ensuring that central institutions in the state function smoothly, enabling students to achieve their full potential.
