BJP expands state team to boost election prospects in Meghalaya

The BJP state president Rikman G Momin has expanded the state team by nominating 52 state executive members, along with 12 special invitees and 4 permanent invitees.
The four permanent invitees include two MLAs – AL Hek (Pynthorumkhrah) and Sanbor Shullai (South Shillong) – and two former state presidents – Shibun Lyngdoh and Ernest Mawrie.
The special invitees also comprises of former legislator Winnerson Sangma, four former state presidents – Khlursing Lyngdoh, HS Syiemlieh, Dr W Kharshiing and Moina Singh Phyllut, retired IAS Wilfred Khyllep, retired MCS LM Sangma, Dr Fenela Nonglait, Dr Rita Tariang, Wandonbok Jyrwa, Banteilang Sing Rumnong and Dr Praksing Nongrum.
This expansion comes just before the convening of a state executive meeting, slated to take place in Shillong within this month, the BJP said in a statement issued on Tuesday.
This exercise is part of the organisational expansion process that BJP Meghalaya has adopted in order to prepare for future elections, it stated.
