BJP asks Govt to seek central assistance for rescuing missing couple

The state BJP on Saturday asked the state government to seek extra manpower and technological assistance from the Centre so that the missing couple from Madhya Pradesh can be located without further delay.
In a statement, BJP general secretary Wankitbok Pohshna said the recent case of a missing tourist couple in the state have raised concerns and the party feels the need to upgrade the state’s facilities in line with the giant strides made nationally in the digital domain; courtesy the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He said that the party suggests that all hotels, resorts, guest house, homestays, service apartments and other businesses related to tourism, should be registered with a government agency. This will ensure that tourists can register via their hotels, homestays etc using a digital application or QR code.
This should in fact be made mandatory as this allows the government to monitor everyone who enters the state; which is important not only from a tourism point of view but also from the perspective of the state’s security, he said adding CCTV must be made mandatory at all hotels, guesthouses and such so the entry and exit of guests can be captured in realtime.
Pohshna said in remote areas where mobile networks may not be fully developed, the state Govt. must consider wifi or satellite linked communication and networking services at police outposts and tourist information centers for seamless messaging and heightened monitoring.
Tourist information centers should be located near all tourists destinations so that no one is left unattended at any time.
