Two houses were destroyed in a major fire incident at Mawlai Mawiong Umjapung on Tuesday morning.  However, miraculously the Holy Bible did not burn during the fire incident.

The two houses belonged to Twintina Nongneng and Risuk Wanshong. The incident took place at around 8 am, police said.

Inquiry has been conducted to know the cause that led to the fire, they said. The house owners suspected that the fire could have been caused due to an electrical short circuit from the meter box.

Though, the fire had destroyed everything, yet it was seen that miraculously, the Bible remained untouched by the fire.

They have also urged the state government to provide some assistance to them.
