The celebration of Bakrid Eid on this coming Sunday has led to the rise of cattle smuggling to Bangladesh from India along the State of Meghalaya.

According to BSF during the past one month more than 400 cattle were seized from the different locations of International Border of Meghalaya.

The demand for cattle increase from Bangladesh for the purpose of sacrifices on occasion of Eid.

This can be gauged by setting up of 4407 cattle trade markets by Bangladesh governmental authorities, BSF said.

Besides it, a digital platform for selling and buying cattle will also be opened from Sunday this week to facilitate more and more cattle business.

BSF is maintaining high degree of alertness on the International Border to maintain National security as well as to prevent all kind of trans-border crimes and illegal activities.
