    The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highway (MoRTH), launched a Scheme for grant of Award to the Good Samaritan who has saved life of a victim of a fatal accident involving a motor vehicle by administering immediate assistance and rushing to Hospital/Trauma Care Centre within the Golden Hour of the accident to provide medical treatment on 3rd October 2021.

    The scheme is an initiative to reduce fatalities on the road and also to motivate the general public to come forward to save lives of road accident victims.

    In pursuance to Government’s Letter No.TPT.30/2019 / 106, Dated 22nd March, 2022, the District Level Appraisal Committee, is hereby constituted which comprises of the following Members:
    (i) The District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills, Shillong — Chairman
    (ii) The Superintendent of Police, East Khasi Hills, Shillong- Member
    (iii) The District Medical & Health Officer, East Khasi Hills, Shillong- Member
    (iv) The District Transport Officer, East Khasi Hills, Shillong — Member Secretary.
    Any deserving cases for the award will be brought to the attention of the Committee for scrutiny and recommendation.
