    For the past several months there were no any illegal extraction of coals or its transportation in East Jaintia Hills District for the authority concerned despite the fact the freshly extracted coals were lying in the open waiting for transportation.

    The MDA Govt comprising the NPP, the UDP, the PDF, the BJP & the HSPDP maintained that there were no illegal coal mining or transportation in Meghalaya.

    The authority concernrd wake up from their slumber after they taken to task by the judges of the High Court of Meghalaya, who unravel the publicly known secret of open extraction of coals in their single day visit to the district.

    The authority concerned suddenly were at liberty from the power of the High Level and conducted four raids within three days seizing large quantity of coals.

    The first raid was conducted by Jonathan Shylla, Addl. Deputy Commissioner, East Jaintia Hills on Wednesday. He lodged a complaint that he along with Executive Magistrates, DMO officials and Police, conducted inspection of coal stock lying at Rymbai Road (EJH) and found twelve illegal coal dumps.

    Dawansalan Sutnga lodged a complaint that during inspection along with Police and DMO officials, it was found that illegal coal was lying / dumped at Rymbai Road, 1 Kilo, 2 Kilo, 3 Kilo and 4 Kilo (EJH).

    S. Marweiñ, Extra Assistant Commissioner, East Jaintia Hills lodged a complaint that during inspection along with Police and DMO officials, it was found that illegal coal stock was lying / dumped at Byndihati, NH-6 (EJH).

    D. Lato, Tourist Officer, Khliehriat (EJH) lodged a complaint that during inspection along with Police and DMO officials, it was found that illegal coal stock was lying / dumped at 3 Kilo, 4 Kilo along Sutnga Road (EJH).
