While geographically distant from Assam, Acharya emphasized the emotional and cultural ties that bind all Indian states.
“Celebrations like these strengthen our shared commitment to a unified and progressive India,” he said, underscoring the ideals of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.
He also acknowledged the contributions of Gujarat and Maharashtra to flagship national initiatives like Make in India and Startup India, adding that Assam too is progressing under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
The celebration featured vibrant cultural performances showcasing the rich traditions and heritage of Gujarat and Maharashtra, offering the audience a glimpse into the states’ artistic diversity.
Among the dignitaries present were Prof. Harbansh Dixit, Advisor to the Raj Bhavan Secretariat; Anurag Goel, Principal Secretary & Chief Electoral Officer, Assam; Surendra Kumar, ADGP (V&AC); Pawar Narsing Sambhaji, Secretary, Finance Department & MD, AMTRON; and Deepak Mehta, President of Shree Gujarat Welfare Society, Guwahati, along with several other officials and cultural representatives.
Governor Acharya concluded by expressing hope that such observances will continue to reinforce India’s unity in diversity and inspire collective progress toward a prosperous future.
