Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is leaving no stone unturned in attracting major investments for Advantage Assam 2.0, the state’s flagship Investment and Infrastructure Summit.

During his visit to Mumbai on Saturday, Sarma met with some of India’s top industrialists, urging them to explore Assam’s booming investment opportunities.

In a significant interaction, CM Sarma met Sajjan Jindal, Chairman of JSW Group, and discussed potential partnerships in the infrastructure and energy sectors. He highlighted Assam’s growing investment ecosystem, emphasizing the government’s pro-business policies and startup-friendly initiatives.

Sarma informed Jindal about Assam’s recently launched Startup and Innovation Policy, which offers fiscal and non-fiscal incentives to encourage entrepreneurs. The policy aims to support 5,000 startups and generate one lakh jobs over the next five years.

Highlighting Assam’s commitment to green energy, the CM showcased investment opportunities in Floating Solar, Bio-CNG, Green Hydrogen, and ATJ fuel, positioning the state as a hub for sustainable energy ventures.

The Chief Minister also met B.K. Goenka, Chairman of Welspun World, to discuss potential collaborations in textiles, energy, water treatment, and infrastructure. Sarma assured Goenka that Assam’s investor-friendly policies offer a lucrative landscape for Welspun World to expand its footprint in the region.

In another key meeting, Sarma engaged with Ravi Ruia, Vice Chairman of Essar Group, exploring prospective investments in electric truck manufacturing and renewable energy projects in Assam. He extended a formal invitation to the Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit, emphasizing it as the ideal platform for converting business proposals into actionable investments.

With Assam poised for rapid economic growth, CM Sarma’s Mumbai visit is part of a broader effort to position the state as a premier investment destination. Backed by progressive policies, sustainability initiatives, and infrastructure expansion, Assam is ready to welcome major industrial players at Advantage Assam 2.0, setting the stage for transformative economic collaborations.
