A team of NSS volunteers from Assam Agricultural University (AAU), Jorhat, delivered a standout performance at the National Integration Camp (NIC) held at Gujarat Vidyapith, Ahmedabad, from June 6 to 12. Led by Dr. Rituraj Boruah, NSS Programme Officer of the College of Agriculture, the team represented Assam with pride and talent.

The camp brought together over 200 NSS volunteers and Programme Officers from 11 states — including Assam, Odisha, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Daman & Diu — for a week of cultural exchange and national bonding.

Team Assam, comprising 10 dedicated volunteers — Deepandita Goswami, Swagata Ahom, Nishita Khatoniar, Diksha Hazarika, Bhaswati Talukdar, Parag Saikia, Nayan Jyoti Kalita, Jyotiaditya B. Dihingia, Ashish Ballav Phukan, and Gunjan Talukdar — made a lasting impression at the event.

They won the Best Team Award in the Traditional Group Dance Competition, captivating audiences with a powerful showcase of Assam’s cultural heritage. Volunteer Nishita Khatoniar further added to the team’s success by securing the Second-Best Performer title in the Solo Song Competition.

The National Integration Camp promotes unity in diversity, encouraging young people to celebrate cultural uniqueness while building national harmony. AAU Vice Chancellor Dr. Bidyut Ch. Deka and NSS Programme Coordinator Dr. Binoy Kr. Medhi congratulated the team on their achievement, applauding their energy, discipline, and commitment to cultural pride and national unity.
