Arunachal minister reviews key development projects in Tezu, emphasizes cultural preservation and community welfare

Arunachal Pradesh Women and Child Development Minister Dasanglu Pul conducted a comprehensive visit to several key sites in Tezu on Monday, including the district museum, the under-construction Community Convention Centre, and the residential quarters for the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO).
At the district museum, Pul was briefed by District Research Officer J. Rondo on existing challenges and infrastructure needs. Acknowledging the significance of the museum in preserving regional identity, she assured the full support of her ministry to address those issues.
“Our museums are a reflection of our identity and heritage,” Pul said. “I commend DRO Rondo and his team for their dedication. We will ensure the museum is strengthened and developed to preserve the legacy of our region.”
Emphasizing the link between culture and development, Pul stated that cultural preservation must go hand-in-hand with community progress, calling for stronger institutional support for local history and tribal traditions.
The minister also inspected the ongoing construction of residential quarters for the CDPO, which falls under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme. Expressing satisfaction with the pace of work, she highlighted the importance of providing adequate housing for frontline welfare officers.
“Ensuring proper accommodation for field-level officers like the CDPO is crucial for the effective delivery of child and maternal welfare services,” she said.
Another highlight of the visit was the site of the Community Convention Centre, a flagship initiative by the district administration to create a dedicated space for public, cultural, and administrative events. Pul lauded the project as a model for community-centric infrastructure.
“I am particularly pleased with the innovative vision behind the Community Convention Centre. It is a thoughtful initiative that will benefit the local population by serving as a hub for engagement and empowerment,” she noted.
Officials accompanying the minister said the centre will be multi-functional and inclusive, equipped to host seminars, workshops, and cultural programs.
The visit concluded with Pul reaffirming the state government’s commitment to holistic rural development, integrating cultural heritage, infrastructure enhancement, and improved service delivery.
She was accompanied by Lohit Deputy Commissioner K.N. Damo, Lohit BJP District President Gamso Bellai, Anjaw BJP District President Bakhetso Tawsik, and other senior officials.
