    The Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District, Isawanda Laloo on Tuesday has made arrangements for opening of shops in Shillong Urban Agglomeration from August 18 to 21 in order to enable the citizens to meet their daily essential requirements.

    According to the order, the following arrangement is made for opening of shops in Shillong Urban Agglomeration w.e.f 18th to 21st August, 2021, subject to strict compliance to the following conditions and subject to relaxation of curfew by the District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District, for each of the given days, which will be notified through separate orders:-

    For Shillong Urban Agglomeration:-

    Identified shops dealing in essential commodities as notified by the Incident Commanders under each Zone in Shillong Urban Agglomeration will open on the days mentioned below:-

     Zone-Wise Opening Plan 
      Name of the Zones/BlocksDays of the Week for which the local markets/Shops in the Zones will be allowed to open  Timings
    All ZonesWednesday to Saturday9:00 AM to 3:00 PM

    Non-essential shops are permitted to open at 50% on each day and will be regulated by the Incident Commander in consultation with the CCMT concerned. Conditions:-

    The CCMTs will depute adequate volunteers to monitor strict compliance of protocols and ensure that public does not move out of the locality.

    If any untoward incident to report to the Incident Commander and Sector Officer concerned

    Everyone should wear double-masks (3-ply plus cloth mask) or N-95 mask without fail.

    Social distancing of at least 2 metre should be strictly maintained by all.

    People are not permitted to loiter in the market area without any valid reasons.

    Anyone found violating protocols will be liable for shop-closure or fined.

    There shall be no overcrowding in one area/shop and people should spend minimum time in the shop/market area.
