Apply for Aadhaar to access key government schemes

The office of the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District has informed that many central government schemes, such as ICDS nutrition POSHAN 2.0, CM Care pension, PMAY(G) housing, student scholarships, MHIS (Smart Card), MGNREGA (100-day employment scheme), NFSA (ration rice), NSAP (old-age pension), LPG connection (for household gas supply), and several other schemes, require an Aadhaar card.

Therefore, the public who do not yet have an Aadhaar card are requested to apply at the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Shillong, or at the Block Development Officer’s office, or at post offices Special Camps arranged, by bringing their EPIC (Voter ID) and Birth Certificate.  

For those below 15 years of age, they must bring their Schedule Tribe Certificate, Birth Certificate, or the Aadhaar card of their parents.

For those who already have an Aadhaar card, it is advised to complete Aadhaar seeding and e-KYC in the offices and Special Camps.
