    Meghalaya Personnel & A. R. (A) Department Secretary CVD Diengdoh, IAS has clarified that Officers belonging to the All India Services (AIS) who are re-employed by the State Government after retirement/superannuation will continue to be governed by the All India Services (Leave) Rules, 1955.

    This is as per office memorandum No. PER.46/2022/23 Dated: Shillong, the11th March, 2024 signed by Diengdoh.

    The memorandum informed whereas Officers belonging to the Meghalaya State Services will be governed by the Leave Rules under the Meghalaya F.R.s & S.R.s 1984 on re-employment by the State Government.

    According to the memorandum, the provisions of the above-mentioned Rules shall apply to the re- employed Officer as if he had entered Government service for the first time on the date of his re-employment.

    The memorandum informed the rule shall also apply to Officers who are re-employed in Statutory, Regulatory or Quasi-Judicial Bodies in the absence of Leave Rules specified by the concerned authority or until such time rules are framed by the concerned authority.
