    The Khasi Students Union South West Khasi Hills District on Friday as mark of observation of the death anniversary of Spility Lyngdoh Langrin as Anti-Uranium Day hanged banners in several part of the district.

    Spility passed away on 28.10.2020 at a ripe age of 95 years. Spility was a resident of Domiasiat in South West Khasi Hills District.

    She turned down the offer of Rs.45 crore from UCIL for leasing her lands to them for 30 years for mining uranium.

    “Money will not buy my freedom,” Spility told the UCIL officials.
