AIUDF supremo Badaruddin Ajmal among 10 candidates file nomination for 3rd phase of poll in Assam

Altogether 10 candidates, including AIUDF supremo Maulana Badaruddin Ajmal have filed their nominations for the third phase of voting for four Lok Sabha constituencies in Assam slated on May 7.

Of them, 2 candidates filed papers in Kokrajhar constituency, 5 in Dhubri, one candidate in Barpeta and 2 candidates filed their papers in Guwahati.

Congress candidate Mira Borthakur Goswami filed her nomination before the returning officer in Guwahati on Tuesday.

4 candidates- Maulana Badaruddin Ajmal (AIUDF), Faruk Khan (independent), Suraj Zaman Mondal (SUCI) and Sukur Ali as filled their nominations on Wednesday.

With this, a total of 18 candidates filed their 30 nomination papers for four constituencies – Dhubri, Kokrajhar, Barpeta and Guwahati.

According to the poll schedule, April 19 will be the last date of filing nomination, April 20 will be the date of scrutiny, and April 22 will be the last date of withdrawal of nomination for the third phase.
