The Resubelpara Block Trinamool Congress Committee (RBTCC) on Saturday was constituted at a meeting held at Resubelpara in North Garo Hills district.

The meeting was attended by All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) MDC from Rongrong and aspiring candidate from Resubelpara Rinaldo K Sangma and AITC youth leader and aspiring candidate for Daddengre constituency Rupa M Marak besides hundreds of old and young leaders.

The meeting has discussed the need to strengthen the party ahead of 2023 Assembly polls.

Addressing the large gathering, Rinaldo K Sangma said that the presence of a large number of people who supported him whilst in the Congress in this meeting called is an indication that thousands of party workers and supporters of Resubelpara Congress who were once top office bearers in Indian National Congress has jumped ships along with Dr Mukul Sangma to All India Trinamool Congress.

The huge amount of turnout of societal leaders from every nook and corner of Resubelpara Assembly constituency shows that the people’s mandate, faith and trust still lies intact with their leader.

The people of North Garo Hills are indebted to Dr Mukul Sangma for his past developmental works in the district and Resubelpara especially. The people of North Garo Hills in all the four constituencies will bring him back to power, he added.

In his speech, Rupa Marak slammed the NPP-led MDA government for mismanagement and mis-governance and Conrad Sangma’s malafide intent in dealing with the border dispute.

The people of Garo Hills need to come together to oust such kind of leaders who have vested interest.

Time has come to change the ruling governance in the interest of our Garo people and Meghalaya as a whole, he said.

Meanwhile, the elected office bearers of the block committee include Pildash Marak as president, Sengjrang Sangma as secretary, Bristine Marak as working president and Kalseng Marak as organizing secretary.
