AICC leader slams BJP for tarnishing image of Cong, Gandhi family

All India Congress Committee (AICC) joint secretary Anthony Mathew on Wednesday slammed the BJP for attempting to tarnish the image of the Congress and the Gandhi family with the National Herald case.
After chairing the political executive meeting of the party in Congress Bhavan, Shillong, Mathew said, “We want to convey to the people of Meghalaya that the attempt of the BJP to tarnish the integrity and reputation of the Congress and the Gandhi family with the National Herald and Association of Jounalist Ltd was discussed in length and we explained to our leadership and to also people of Meghalaya through the district and blocks to say that this case has no factual evident, no money transfer, no government involvement in any form from the time of its origin of this matter till date and then the government has used the enforcement directorate (ED) to fabricate a case which is non-existence to tarnish the image of the Gandhi family and the Congress, which has been fighting for this country from the time of Independence till now.”
“The reason why it is because the BJP realises that despite their short term electoral wins based on propaganda and right wing fundamentalists, it is very clear that they are still insecure about remaining in power because they are very sure about the presence of the Gandhi family and the Congress at high value in every single soul of the people of India and state of Meghalaya,”he added.
Further, Mathew informed the political executive meeting as decide by the AICC passed the resolution on Pahalgam terror attack.
“We unanimously resolved to support the Government of India against this horrific terror attack and take action against this people, who have caused this pain and immense injury to the people of our country.”
He said the meeting also resolved to condole the death of His Holiness Pope Francis, who is one of a kind a peace maker in this era, which we all have witnessed.
