    The Director of Higher & Technical Education, Shillong, has released an official admission notice inviting applications who are permanent residents of Meghalaya for a four-year B.Sc (Forestry) course. This opportunity is available for the academic session 2024-2025, with four seats reserved at Dr. Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, Solan, Himachal Pradesh under the NEC quota. However, applicants should note that no financial assistance will be provided by NEC for this degree course.

    Educational Qualifications:

    The eligibility criteria for admission to the above course is 10+2 or any other equivalent examination with English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics of a recognized University/Board with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (45% in case of ST/SC category) in the above mentioned subjects. Selection of candidate shall be made in order of merit of aggregate marks in English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics in the qualifying examination.

    Application Process:

    Interested candidates can download the application from the Department website https://megeducation.gov.in/dhte/pages/forms.html. Completed application form duly accompanied with self-attested copies of all the documents should reach the Office of the Director of Higher & Technical Education, (Opposite Shillong Public School, Laitumkhrah Room No. 101) on or before 31st May 2024. Duplicate form duly completed should also be submitted for record.

    Age Limit:

    Candidates should not be less than 17 years and not more than 21 years of age as on 1st July 2024. The upper age limit is relaxable by 3 years in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribe and Scheduled Caste.

    Reservation:

    Nomination of selected candidate in order of merit will be made from this Office against the above seat. The reservation policy of the State Government will be applicable.

    • Non-Tribal students should furnish P.R.C. issued by the competent authority without which their application will not be entertained.
    • The Govemment/Department does not guarantee job on successful completion ofthe course.
