    East Jaintia Hills District Magistrate, E Kharmalki informed that in pursuance to the order of Home (Political) Department, Government of Meghalaya dated 17.09.2021, the following arrangement and additional activities are allowed in the district from September 21 till further orders.

    The order was issued after observing that the positivity rate of COVID-19 has significantly reduced come down in last few weeks.

    According to order the opening of shops in the localities/ major Market areas of Khliehriat East & West, whole of Ladrymbai, Umpleng, Sohkymphor, Sookilo, Saipung, Semasi, Jalaphet, Wapung, Sutnga, Nongjri, Chiehruphi, Lumshnong, Rymbai, Bataw and Umkiang will be allowed to open from Monday to Saturday only from 9.00 A.M to 6.00 P.M and to close on Sunday.

    Opening of Border Haats may be permitted from the office of the undersigned based on local situation.

    The shopkeepers and the public should strictly adhere to the following protocols while making their purchase.

    Everyone should wear double mask ( 3-ply plus cloth mask) or N—95 mask without fail.

    Social distancing of at least 2 meter should be strictly maintained by all.

    People are not permitted to loiter in the market area without any valid reasons.

    Anyone found violating protocols will be liable for shops- closure or fined.

    There shall be no overcrowding in one area/ shops and people should spend minimum time in the shops/Market area.

    Universities and Colleges Hostel are permitted to re-open subject to prior permission from the office of the undersigned and in compliance with the SOP being issued by Education Department.

    Funeral gathering is permitted up to a maximum number of 50 persons.

    Engagement/Marriage ceremonies outside place of worship. Permitted upto 1/3 rd seating capacity but subject maximum number of 100 persons in spacious halls/ open areas and 50 persons in private residence.

    Individuals must maintain n a minimum distance of 5 feet and strictly follow all COVID -19 safety protocols.
