    West Jaintia Hills Police today recovered suspected contraband from an abandoned vehicle during a routine naka checking operation at Soomer, along the Jowai Bypass.

    The police team detected a vehicle bearing registration number AS 06 AB 4098, which had been left unattended by its driver.

    During inspection, 13 soap cases containing a total of 129.48 grams of suspected heroin were recovered.

    Police said a case is being registered and further investigation is underway.
