9 arrested in Mawbah assault case

Nine persons have been arrested for their alleged involvement in assaulting three persons on Wednesday.

The incident took place at Nepali Graveyard Mawbah Shillong when the victims were severely assaulted by unknown persons numbering around 30 and wearing masks.

All the victims were admitted in the hospital and a case was registerd at the Lumdiengjri police station.

Superintendent of Police Sylvester Nongtnger said after a probe by the Police, the 9 persons have been arrested so far. He said further investigation is on to nab the other culprits.
