    ICAR-CTCRI has organized training programme on Improved varieties, technologies and value addition in tuber crops on November 28 at Lumdiengngan village, Ri Bhoi in collaboration with ICAR Research Complex for NEH region, Umiam, Meghalaya.

    Dr. R. Muthuraj, Principal Scientist and Dr. D. Jaganathan, Senior Scientist, Dr. P. Prakash, Scientist, ICAR-CTCRI and Dr. H.D. Talang, Scientist, ICAR Research Complex for NEH region, Umiam, Meghalaya handled various aspects on tuber crops. Sarabhalang Kharshing and Pynskhem Sothun officials from FPOs offered felicitations.

    Planting materials of improved varieties of tuber crops viz., Sree Vijaya, Sree Pavithra and Sree Swarna in cassava & Sree Arun, Sree Kanaka, Bhu Sona and Bhu Krishna in Sweet potato were distributed to farmers for establishing demonstrations cum seed villages.

    Training materials, value added products and farm implements were also distributed. 85 participants comprising of farmers, entrepreneurs and officials attended the programme.
