Eight suspected Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended by the Jaintia Students Union (JSU) from a village in West Jaintia Hills District on Thursday morning.

The apprehended persons, which include four males and four females, were travelling in two Wagon R vehicles (ML 05 AE 4857 and ML 05 AB 3544) before they were intercepted at Demthring village.

All of them failed to produce valid documents and accordingly, they were taken and handed over to Jowai police station for necessary action, the JSU said in a statement.
