78.25% voter turnout in Assam’s 5 constituencies in 1st phase of LS poll

Total voter turnout in Assam’s five Lok Sabha constituencies in the first phase of elections has gone up to 78.25 per cent, officials of Election Commission of India (ECI) said here on Saturday.

Jorhat recorded the highest voter turnout with 79.89% in Jorhatin all 2068 polling stations.

There was 80.92% in Demow LAC, 75.60% in Dergaon, 75% in Jorhat, 80.14% in Sivasagar, 80.47% in Sonari, 79.30% in Teok, 81.81% in Mahmora, 81.01% in Majuli, 77.68% in Mariani, 78.40% in Nazira and 79.50% voter turnout was recorded in Titabor LAC.

Voter turnout in Kaziranga LS constituency was 79.33%. There was 73.00% voter turnout in Barhampur LAC, 81.17% in Binakandi, 76.25% in Bokakhat, 72.89% in Golaghat, 73.56% in Hojai, 83.71% in Kaliabor, 76.21% in Khumtai, 75.30% in Lumding and 70.38% voter turnout was recorded in Sarupathar LAC segment.

78.46% voter turnout was recorded in Sonitpur Lok Sabha seat. Of them, 73.20% voter turnout was recorded in Barchala LAC, 74.45% in Bihali, 77.54% in Biswanath, 73.56% in Dhekiajuli, 78.69% in Gohpur, 74.10% in Naduar and 75.96% voter turnout was recorded in Rangpara LAC segment.

24 candidates contesting from Karimganj for 2nd phase of LS poll

Lakhimpur recorded 76.47% voter turnout during the first phase of the elections. 72% turnout was recorded in Bihpuria LAC, 76.63% in Dhakuakhana, 70.52% in Dhemaji, 74 in Tezpur, 78% in Jonai, 74% in Lakhimpur, 75% in Nowboicha, 74% in Ronganadi, 65.32% in Sadiya and 70.77% voter turnout was recorded in Sssborgaon LAC segment.

There was 76.74% voter turnout in Dibrugarh LS seat. Of them, 79.26% in Chabua-Lahowal, 77.95% in Dibrugarh, 73.72% in Digboi, 73.87% in Doomdooma, 78.85% in Duliajan, 79.49% in Khowang, 72.68% in Makum, 76.32% in Margherita, 76.20% in Naharkatia, 79.70% in Tingkhong and 72.59% voter turnout was recorded in Tinsukia LAC segment.
