6 arrested for illicit liquor sale

In its continued drive against illicit liquor/illegal sale of IMFL/ beer/wine etc., the office of the Deputy Commissioner (Excise), East Khasi Hills District detected 9 cases with a seizure of 53.000 litres of i/d liquor and 5.840 litres IMFL and arrested 6 persons under the Excise Act.     

The seizure and arrest were outcome of raids conducted in restaurants, stalls in the town and its outskirts during the month of June, 2023.
