  • 59 jail inmates in Tura get 1st dose of COVID-19 vaccine

    As many as 59 inmates of Tura prisons received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday.

    Inspector General of Prison M Kharkrang said this was in continuation with the vaccination drive of prison inmates conducted by the health department.

    He said that the drive will continue.  

    Meanwhile, 30,114 healthcare workers had received the first dose of vaccine and 19,597 had received the second dose, while 92,645 frontline workers got the first shot of the vaccine and 26,594 got the second dose as on Tuesday.

     Moreover, 2,81,836 persons from among the general public were vaccinated with the first dose and 28,330 were inoculated with the second dose of the vaccine against COVID-19 across the state.
