    Forty-four more persons have been tested positive for coronavirus on Thursday, taking the total active cases in the state to 633.

    Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said the 44 new cases include 19 in Ri Bhoi District of which 15 are armed forces personnel and 4 are civilians, 14 Border Security Force (BSF) troopers in West Garo Hills, 10 in East Khasi Hills that include 6 civilians, 3 armed forces personnel and one from the state police and a civilian in West Jaintia Hills.

    He also informed that 6 patients have also recovered today, taking the total recoveries in the state to 345.

    Dr War further said of the total 633 active cases, 491 are in East Khasi Hills of which 243 are civilians, 187 BSF troopers and 61 are armed forces personnel.

    There are 70 cases in Ri Bhoi, 29 in West Garo Hills, 17 in West Jaintia Hills, 17 in East Jaintia Hills, 5 in West Khasi Hills, 2 in South West Garo Hills and 2 in South Garo Hills.
