    The state has also recorded 42 new COVID-19 cases and 6 recoveries on Friday.

    Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War informed that the new cases include 34 in East Khasi Hills district, 3 West Garo Hills district, 2 each in Ri Bhoi district and West Jaintia Hills district and 1 in East Jaintia Hills district.

    He said those recovered from the viral infection are all from East Khasi Hills district.

    So far, the state has detected a total of 14,207 COVID-19 cases out of which 167 are active cases, 13,889 recovered and 151 deaths.

    East Khasi Hills has 118 active cases, West Garo Hills 27, Ri Bhoi 13, East Jaintia Hills 4, West Jaintia Hills 4 and West Khasi Hills 2.

    On the other hand, of the 4,17,459 persons who have tested for COVID-19 in the state as on date, 4,03,252 were tested negative for the virus even as 92 persons are in institutional quarantine and 75 under home quarantine.

    There are 1,00,930 entrants from outside the state.
