    Twenty-eight more persons have been tested positive for coronavirus on Monday, taking the total active cases in the state to 633.

    Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said of the 28 new cases, 21 are in East Khasi Hills that includes 13 Border Security Force (BSF) troopers, 6 civilians and 2 armed forces personnel, five armed forces personnel in Ri Bhoi and 2 civilians in West Jaintia Hills. 

    Of the 633, he informed that East Khasi Hills has a total of 518 active cases which include 233 civilians, 226 BSF troopers and 59 armed forces personnel.

    In the other districts, there are 55 cases in Ri Bhoi, 17 in East Jaintia Hills, 16 in West Jaintia Hills, 16 in West Garo Hills, 5 in West Khasi Hills, 4 South West Garo Hills, and 2 in South Garo Hills.

    Three districts including South West Khasi Hills, East Garo Hills and North Garo Hills have zero cases. 

    Meanwhile, a total of 264 patients have recovered from the infection while five have died so far in the state.
