    SHILLONG: The Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority (MSLSA) on Saturday organised the National Lok Adalat in the State of Meghalaya, under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and under the Patronage of the Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court Ajay Kumar Mittal, who is the Patron-in-Chief of the MSLSA, and under the guidance of Justice HS Thangkhiew, Judge, High Court of Meghalaya.

    A total of 647 Pre-Litigation cases and 436 pending cases were posted before the National Lok Adalat for settlement. The cases included MACT, Bank Recovery, civil cases and compoundable criminal cases.

    During the Lok Adalat, 224 cases were settled an amount of Rs 4.33 crore in the National Lok Adalat. In the High Court of Meghalaya, an amount of Rs 2.17 crores was settled.

    The Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority expresses deep sense of gratitude to the Chief Justice, High Court of Meghalaya and Patron-in-Chief of MSLSA and Justice H.S. Thangkhiew, Judge, High Court of Meghalaya and Executive Chairman of the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority for Lordships, presence, encouragement and support for making the National Lok Adalat Success in the State of Meghalaya.
