15-yr-old boy dies in Shillong road mishap

A 15-year-old boy died on the spot, while another critically injured in a road accident on Wednesday morning.

The tragic accident between one loaded 407-truck (NL 01 AB 5228) and a scooty (ML 05 R 2983) took place at around 7 am near St Edmund’s School here.

East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police, Sylvester Nongtnger informed that the rider of the scooty identified as Kiran Sinha (15) died on the spot while the pillion rider Yomiki L Nonglait (11) sustained grievous injury and was later shifted to Bethany hospital, Shillong.

He said the driver of the said truck however fled away from the spot. According to him, a case has been registered.

Meanwhile, all formalities have been observed at the spot and the deceased person has been shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong for post mortem.
