15-Day DAJGUA campaign launched in East Jaintia Hills to boost tribal welfare

The nationwide Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA) IEC campaign was launched on 18th June 2025 in East Jaintia Hills District, with awareness activities held across all three Community & Rural Development (C&RD) Blocks—Wapung, Saipung, and Lumshnong.
On the opening day, awareness camps were organised in eight locations: Tuber-Shohshrieh, Wapung, Iongkaluh, and Bataw under Wapung Block; Latyrke (catering to residents of Jarain, Tluh, and Latyrke), and Lamyrsiang (for Lamyrsiang and Moolamylliang residents) under Saipung Block; and Chiehruphi (serving both Chiehruphi and Musiang Lamare) and Nongsning under Lumshnong Block.
The campaign, which runs until 30th June 2025, will cover 73 villages across the district. Multiple line departments—including Health, Social Welfare, Skill Development, Agriculture, PHE, Education, Labour, IT & Communication, Fisheries, Tourism, PWD, Food & Civil Supplies, Community & Rural Development, and MeECL—are participating to deliver a wide range of services.
Key services offered include Aadhaar enrolment, Ayushman Bharat registration, opening of Jan Dhan accounts, PM-KISAN enrolments, and Aadhaar linkage under MHIS. IEC materials in the form of banners from various departments provide detailed information on flagship government schemes related to education, health, housing, livelihoods, and skill development.
Beyond service delivery, the campaign promotes awareness of tribal rights and entitlements, aiming to strengthen inclusive development at the grassroots level.
On 19th June 2025, the campaign will be conducted in Mukhaialong and Chamcham (Wapung Block), Lumshnong and Thangskai (Lumshnong Block), and Sakhain Moolimen and Tongseng (Saipung Block).
The Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan marks the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda—observed as Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh—and seeks to address developmental gaps in tribal areas through 25 targeted interventions coordinated by 17 central ministries.
