10 MT Black Pepper from SWGH shipped to Mumbai

In a major milestone for the farmers of South West Garo Hills district, 10 metric tons of locally produced black pepper were shipped to Mumbai from Chapahati Prime Hub by the Kerupara and Dingampara Integrated Village Cooperative Societies (IVCS) under Zikzak Block on Thursday evening.
With support from M-LAMP and the Meghalaya Basin Development Authority (MBMA), Kerupara IVCS and Dingampara IVCS collected the black pepper from local farmers and dispatched it to Sundardas Ratansey Spice Pvt Ltd, Mumbai.
This marks the district’s second such shipment—following the 2023 dispatch of approximately 11 tons by Dimiligre IVCS Ltd., also under Zikzak Block—made possible through the collective efforts of IVCS members, farmers, and MBMA.
Of the total 10 tons, Kerupara IVCS contributed 6,600 kg at Rs 640 per kg, while Dingampara IVCS contributed 3,400 kg at a slightly lower rate of Rs 610 per kg due to quality differences as per assessment.

The successful shipment was coordinated with the support of Deputy Commissioner Hema Nayak, who facilitated smooth logistics; Am’beng Farmers & Producers Association of South West Garo Hills, which mobilized the farmers; and MBMA Marketing Executive Bravantyo K. Marak, who ensured continuous engagement with buyers.
According to DPM, MBMA, Grikseng Ch. Marak, and Directors of Sundardas Ratansey Spice Pvt Ltd—Satish Dharamsey Pallicha and Kalind Satish Pallicha—the black pepper from South West Garo Hills will be procured by Everest Masala & Everest Food Products, a renowned manufacturer and exporter of ground spices under the brand name “Everest.”
