    The state police have arrested three persons who are suspected to be involved in burning down of a go down which led to the death of a labourer.

    The incident took place at Madanrting Block-F on Monday.

    Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP) GK Iangrai said after completely dousing the fire, one male dead body identified as Ramesh Bara (45) of Tarajani, Jorhat was found inside the godown of Meera Kharkongor.

    Bara was working as a labourer for Kharkongor since last four years and was staying in the godown with the grandson of the owner.

    “On observing legal formalities, there were some suspicions of foul play,” Iangrai said.

    He informed that a case has been registered with the Madanrting police station and three suspects have been arrested.

    The AIGP said one small hammer, one shovel and two partially burnt firewood which are suspected to be used for the commission of crime were also  seized from the place of occurrence.
