Traffic arrangements for Annual Behdienkhlam Festival 2023 in Jowai

The Superintendent of Police, West Jaintia Hills, Jowai, Chemphang Syrti on Tuesday announced the traffic arrangements for the Annual Behdienkhlam Festival 2023, which will be celebrated from 6th to 9th July 2023 in Jowai.

The following measures have been implemented to ensure the smooth flow of traffic during the festival:

On 8th July 2023:
A. NO ENTRY:
From 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM:
Loomsooiung (New Hill) – Iawmusiang area – HK Singh School – Chutwakhu – Khliehchnong – Chiliangraij.

From 12:00 Noon to 4:30 PM:
Loomsooiung (New Hill) – Iawmusiang area – Stand War – Mynthong Road (District Library)-Mission Compound – Iongpiah Road.

C. ONE-SIDE PARKING:

Chiliang Raij Road – Umshangiar Road (Reserved for VIPs only)
Chiliang Raij (Ummakah/Aitnar Jn) – Chutwakhu Road – Jrisaleiň JN (Only for Vehicles with Pass).
Mission Compound (CHC Point) – Ϊongpiah Road near Church of God (Only for Vehicles with Pass)

D. NO VEHICLE ZONE:
Aitnar Area

E. PARKING LOTS:

Jrisaleiň Ground (For Medium and Heavy Vehicles).
Parking lots (stands) under Ĩawmusiang Area.
Near Thomas Jones Synod College (One side Parking Only)
Wahgate Area (One Side parking for LMVs only).

F. NO PARKING ZONE:

DC junction – SP junction – War Taxi Stand – Mynthong Road
DC Junction – District Council/Ĩawshyiap Zone – HK Singh Tri-Junction – Jrisaleiň Junction
Wahnangbah Junction – Tpeppale Locality.
DC Point – Mission Compound Road – Chiliang Raij (Ummakah/Aitnar Jn)

Additionally, there will be vehicle staggering from Riatturiem to Newhill Police Point on NH-44 on the 6th and 7th of July 2023 during the movement of the “Symbood Khnong, Dienkhlam, and Khnong Blai.”
