  • St. Anthony’s College team wins first round of million dollar Hult Prize

    The team comprising of three members, namely Jane Mebalari Wahlang, Vidyant Roy Patgiri and  Ernie First Lyngdoh from St. Anthony’s College Shillong have won themselves a spot in the Regional Summit of the Hult Prize event to be held later in the month of March 2021.

    Hult Prize is a global competition which looks for innovative idea in business and entrepreneurship worldwide. The winner of this challenge wins a cash prize of One Million USD to start their Start Up idea.

    The Hult Prize 2021 is an International University Level Movement offered in partnership with the United Nations and is hosted and supported by Hult International Business School and generously funded by Swedish entrepreneur Bertil Hult and his family.

    The Hult Prize declares a new challenge every year, aligned with a large market of opportunities, inspiring students from over 121 countries to solve one of the greatest problems of mankind. This year’s theme is “Food for Good: Transforming Food into a Vehicle for Change” where students are required to come up with a Start-Up idea based around this central theme.

    Starting out with twenty-five teams, mentored by a team of experts, a team of young students from Team Iuvenis Minds of St. Anthony’s College Shillong won the first ever held On Campus Hult Prize NEHU challenge held on 13th of January, 2021.

    After hours spent by the teams pitching their Start Up ideas, the panel of distinguished experts consisting of Mr. B.K. Sohliya, Mr. Pius Ranee and Dr. Gino A Sangma selected The team Iuvenis Minds of St. Anthony’s College Shillong.

    The first runner up was a team called Team Aces comprising of four students, namely Aushinar Dastidar, Ananya Bhattacharjee, Akangsha Chakravorty and Muskan Singhania and the second runner up was a team called Team Phoenix comprising of Prerna Rana, Tanvi Dey, Ashmita Saha, Madhu Shah Bareh.
