‘Fagun Bolise’ drops like a breeze of fire: A bold ode to love and spring hits Assamese music scene

Assamese music just got a romantic jolt with the release of ‘Fagun Bolise’—a sultry, soul-stirring new track that blends love, longing, and the wild spirit of spring. The audio-visual song was officially launched on Tuesday at Guwahati’s Lahar Digital Studio, setting the tone for a season of musical passion.
The event was a star-studded affair, featuring music director Manash Hazarika, vocalists Saju and Surabhi Sonmoni, cultural activist Mridul Hazarika, and editor-director Tiraap Simanta Medhi. Singer-composer-lyricist Surabhi Sonmoni Hazarika, who previously turned heads with her hit “Eti Eti Kotha”, now joins forces with popular crooner Rupam Bhuyan in this latest offering that channels the raw emotions of love in bloom.
Inspired by the month of Fagun—known in Assamese culture as a time when nature flirts with fire, flowers, and feverish romance—the track captures the energy of rustling leaves, restless winds, and the unmistakable scent of new beginnings. Palash flowers blaze through the visuals, mirroring the burning intensity of the lyrics.
‘Fagun Bolise’ dives into themes of timeless, unwavering love. It’s a love letter to lovers, brought to life with lush harmonies by Bhuyan and Sonmoni, and backed by evocative music direction from Palash Surya Gogoi. The result is a composition that resonates with both freshness and depth.

The visuals, directed and edited by Tiraap Simanta Medhi and shot by Amlan Jyoti Rajkhowa, deliver cinematic flair, while actors Amit Kumar Borah and Priyam Pallabee add emotional gravity with their performances. The technical finesse of the track owes much to the mixing and mastering talents of Manash Hazarika (Lahar Digital) and Pinku Das (@Red AV Studio).
The song is now live on YouTube via SS Production, and if early buzz is any indication, ‘Fagun Bolise’ is set to become the new anthem for hearts beating a little faster this spring.
