Dasanglu Pul honours Ahilyabai Holkar, pushes child welfare and cultural pride in Namsai

Arunachal Pradesh Women and Child Development Minister Dasanglu Pul paid tribute to Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar on Sunday during a state-level seminar held in Namsai, calling her “one of India’s greatest women leaders” and a timeless symbol of courage, wisdom, and service.
“Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar’s life is a timeless example of fearless leadership, compassion, and empowerment. Her story should be part of every child’s education,” said Pul in her keynote address.
On the sidelines of the seminar, the minister inaugurated an exhibition showcasing Arunachal Pradesh’s indigenous arts, crafts, and cultural traditions. “The exhibition reflects the creativity and resilience of our communities. It’s vital that we preserve and promote these traditions,” she said.
The event was attended by several prominent figures, including Namsai MLA Chau Zingnu Namchoom, State BJP Vice President Tarh Tarak, and BJP Mahila Morcha President Kohman Lungphi Ngemu. Pul thanked all participants and organizers for their support in making the event a success.
Earlier in the day, Minister Pul visited the construction site of Vatsalya Sadan, a child shelter home in Namsai dedicated to the care and protection of vulnerable children. Reviewing the project’s progress, she emphasized the state government’s commitment to building a compassionate support system for children in distress.
“Vatsalya Sadan—‘Home of Parental Love’—is envisioned as a nurturing space where children can find security, healing, and dignity,” she said. “The welfare of our most vulnerable citizens must be central to our development agenda.”
The visit was accompanied by MLA Namchoom, Deputy Commissioner C R Khampa, Superintendent of Police S Thinley, and other senior officials.
With a dual focus on cultural preservation and child welfare, Minister Pul’s visit highlighted Arunachal Pradesh’s efforts to combine social empowerment with grassroots development.
